My Drive — your private file storage
Who this is for: All members — Aspirants, Recruiters, and Service Providers What you'll learn: What My Drive is, how to upload and organise files, how sharing works, how to use the Trash, how to access files shared with you, and what happens when your storage is running low.
Overview
My Drive is your private, personal file storage area on Cine Talent India. Files you upload to My Drive are visible only to you — no other member, recruiter, or visitor can see them unless you explicitly share a specific file with someone.
My Drive is a good place to keep reference material, documents, scripts, or media that you are not ready to publish on your public profile.
Uploading files
- Go to your workspace and select My Drive from the sidebar.
- Navigate to the folder where you want to upload (or stay in the root).
- Tap Upload (or drag and drop files onto the page).
- Select the file or files from your device.
- The upload begins immediately. A progress indicator shows you how it is going.
- When complete, the file appears in your current folder.
You can also create new folders to keep your files organised.
Organising files and folders
- Create a folder: Tap the New folder button, give the folder a name, and tap Create.
- Move a file: Select a file and choose Move. Pick the destination folder and confirm.
- Rename a file or folder: Select the item and choose Rename. Type the new name and save.
- Delete a file or folder: Select the item and choose Delete. The item moves to your Trash (not permanently deleted straight away).
Sharing a file with someone
You can share individual files from My Drive with specific people on the platform.
- Find the file you want to share.
- Tap the Share option on the file (usually via a menu or icon).
- Search for the person you want to share with and select them.
- Confirm to send the share.
The recipient receives a notification and can view the shared file in their Shared to Me section.
What can a recipient do with a shared file? A recipient can view and download the shared file. They cannot edit, rename, or re-share the file. You can remove a share at any time — after you remove it, the recipient will no longer be able to access the file.
Trash
When you delete a file or folder, it moves to the Trash rather than being permanently deleted straight away.
- To view your Trash: Select Trash in the My Drive sidebar.
- To restore an item: Find the item in Trash and tap Restore. The file or folder returns to its original location.
- To permanently delete an item: Find the item in Trash and tap Delete permanently. This cannot be undone — the file is gone.
Items in Trash still count towards your storage quota until they are permanently deleted.
Shared to Me
The Shared to Me section shows files that other members have shared with you.
- To access it, select Shared to Me in the My Drive sidebar.
- You will see a list of people who have shared files with you. Tap a person's name to see the files they have shared.
- You can view and download these files. You cannot edit, rename, or re-share them.
- If the person who shared a file removes the share, the file will no longer appear in your Shared to Me section.
Storage quota
Your storage quota is the total amount of space available for your files in My Drive. You can see how much space you have used and how much remains in the storage indicator on your Drive page.
When you are running low on storage:
- You will see a warning when you are approaching your limit.
- When your quota is full, you will not be able to upload new files until you free up space (by permanently deleting files) or increase your storage (via your subscription plan).
- Files in Trash continue to use storage until they are permanently deleted.
Common questions
Can recruiters or other members see my Drive files? No. Your Drive is completely private. No one else can browse your Drive. The only exception is a file you have explicitly shared with a specific person — only that person can access that specific file.
What file types can I upload? My Drive accepts common file types including images, videos, PDFs, and documents. Very large files or unusual file types may be restricted. If an upload fails, check that your file is a supported type and within the size limit.
Can I share a file with someone who is not on CTI? No. Sharing within My Drive is limited to other CTI members on the platform.
Is My Drive the same as the Gallery or Showcase? No. My Drive is private storage. Your Gallery is the media you have published on your public profile (photos and videos visible to anyone who views your profile). Your Showcase is a curated selection of your best work, also publicly visible. My Drive is for files you want to keep private.
What happens to my files if my subscription lapses? Your files are kept safe. You will not lose your files if your plan lapses, but you may not be able to upload new ones until your plan is renewed.
Can I recover a file I permanently deleted? No. Permanently deleted files cannot be recovered. Use the Restore option from Trash before permanently deleting if there is any chance you will need the file again.
